Hear Our Voices: A glimpse into the experience of pregnant substance users

“Hear Our Voices: A glimpse into the experience of pregnant substance users” is a short educational film created in collaboration with a group of mothers in recovery at Crouse Chemical Dependency Treatment Services (CDTS) in Syracuse, New York. There are many complex reasons why women using drugs do not seek, or seek fewer health care services during pregnancy. Through the perspective of the patients, this film illustrates the importance of healthcare professional - patient relationships and how these delicate interactions can encourage or prevent these women from getting the best care.
